| Michelle Bravo, RD, LDN
Proper nutrition is vital to any person with diabetes, and Michelle gives her patients the most important information and planning methods they need to achieve healthy nutrition and improve their diabetes management. Michelle meets with her patient one-on-one in order to determine their personal goals. With her individualized care, Michelle addresses specific areas such as exercise, monitoring, problem solving and healthy eating habits. Her teaching approach helps patients understand how to prevent and manage the many complications of diabetes. In addition to the one-on-one consultations, Michelle teaches at each offered education class here at the center. During these classes she informs patients on the fundamentals of proper nutrition, serving sizes, reading food labels, and handling special occasion and dining out. Outside of the work done here at the Diabetes Center, Michelle supports many programs provided to the community. Michelle participates in programs designed to highlight nutritional health in areas where this information may not be easily accessible. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association as well as The American Association of Diabetes Educators. She is also a member of the Advisory Committee that oversees Johns Hopkins’ satellite centers in Bayview, Howard County and Green Spring Station.
