Schizophrenia Clinic
Director: Nicola Cascella, M.D.

The Schizophrenia Clinic offers full psychiatric evaluation and treatment recommendations for patients with a diagnosis of schizophrenia, schizophreniform disorders, psychotic disorders and schizoaffective disorders. The clinic also evaluates patientswith unclear diagnoses of schizophrenia and who are in need of a second opinion.

  • The clinic is located in Meyer 144 
  • Patients are evaluated on Wednesdays 8:30 am - 12 noon

Inpatient Services

 Schizophrenia Service
This seven bed unit, located on Meyer 5, specializes in the treatment of patients with the diagnoses of schizophrenia and other related disorders. The unit supports ongoing departmental research activities and patients are given the opportunity to participate in those studies if they so desire.

Current Research Projects:

  • Neurologic apathy as a model for schizophrenia with primary negative symptoms
  • The study of language, thought disorder and schizophrenia using functional MRI 
  • PET studies of dopamine receptors
